BENEFICIAL THERAPIES
IT WORKED FOR ME!
We have complied a list of therapies that either we have used or people have told us about. Here are a few:
FOCUS
* Martial Arts (private or group lessons) for focus, coordination
* Equestrian Therapy or Hippotherapy for core stability, focus and fine motor
* Vision Therapy (for eye tracking problems)
* ADD Medication for focus
FINE MOTOR
* Art lessons (private usually works best)
GROSS MOTOR
* Gymnastics (private or group lessons)
* Dance classes for coodination
COORDINATION
* Music classes
* Drama Classes
SOCIAL
* Boy/Girl Scouts - great for making new friends in an environment that embraces limitations.
* Friendship groups (with mainstream children during recess or other off times)
SCHOLASTIC
* One on one tutor
* Music/Listening Therapy
OUT OF THE BOX
* Cranialsacral Therapy
* Chiropractic
* Assistance or Service Dog
* Perceptual Motor Therapy
* Listening/Auditory Therapy
We know that everyone has different financial levels so these are just an idea to try. They also take alot of time and effort to do after school but they are worth it! Don't be afraid to immerse yourself into these classes with "mainstream" children. It can be scarry and does not work for all children but you never know until you try!
